Community Events in the Comox Valley
The Comox Valley has a lively Arts and Cultural scene which is
reflected in numerous annual festivals as well as many "one off" events
such as theatre and concert performances. Some of the regular annual

the Comox Valley
June Comox Valley Shellfish Festival
Presented by the BC Shellfish Growers Association in
partnership with the K’omoks First Nation. Festival events running
throughout the week. Main event on Sunday June 10th, 2007 at the Comox
Marina Park. Events include entertainment, education and cultural

June - July Showcase Festival
Professional theatre festival featuring three plays. More

July 1 Canada Day Celebrations
Featuring a parade down 5th Street in downtown Courtenay and
celebrations and fair at Lewis Park. Call City Hall at (250)334-4441

July - Sept ( every Saturday through Sept) Comox Valley Farmers Market
Saturday mornings 9am to 12pm at the Exhibition Fairgrounds in

July - Sept Hands on Farm at
Filberg Park
The Hands On Farm is a farm yard petting zoo located on the fabulous
Filberg Park Grounds. We welcome the public daily from 10am to 4pm.
Everyone welcome! Admission $2 (children 5 years and under $1); Season
Family
Pass $30; Group Rate (must have a ration of at least 1 adult to 4
children
to meet the supervisory needs of the farm) $25.
July - Aug CVYMC Music Festival
Student and Faculty classical, jazz, and performing arts'
concerts' held at various locations throughout the Valley (Tuesdays,
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays) throughout the month of July and

July Vancouver Island Music
Fest
A three day event featuring a variety of music and
performers from
all over Canada and the world. 3 stages, family-oriented, and on-site

Mount Washington Alpine Resort
July Downtown Market Day
Main street in downtown Courtenay (5th
Street) is closed to traffic as merchants, crafts people, buskers and
food vendors fill the streets. Great deals, great fun!
July TBA Arts Denman Studio
Tour
Fine art and craft studios exhibiting functional,
non-functional and decorative works of art will be open to the public
on Saturday, 9am to 5pm. Free to the public, tour maps available at the
Denman Island Art Centre at the top of the ferry hill. Information at

July - Aug Hornby Island
Festival of the Arts
A classical and popular music festival featuring Canadian
artists. Internationally acclaimed performers - instrumental, vocals,
dancing
& theatre. Various venues throughout the Island including some of

Aug - BC Day long weekend Filberg Arts and Crafts Festival
One of the premier annual Arts and Crafts Festivals in BC.
At Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park in Comox. Arts, crafts,
entertainment and concessions and special guest artists in the Lodge.

Nautical Days
A weekend-long festival of family fun with events such as
