Vancouver Island Music Fest
A three day event held annually in the Comox Valley, the
Vancouver Island Music Fest is becoming one of the premier summer music
festivals in British Columbia. This event offers 6 stages, with over 75
concerts and workshops, on-site riverside camping, kids activities,
workshops, art projects, roving performers, and much more all at a
stunning natural venue in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver
Island.
With it's eclectic menu of musical styles including, but not
limited to, Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, World Beat and Roots
influenced Rock, the Island Music Fest has something for just about
everyone's taste. This fact is reflected in the composition of the
crowd. A family friendly event, festival goers range from babes-in-arms
to seniors with every age in between well represented.
Some of the performers at past Island Music Fests have
included: Arlo Guthrie, Steve Earle, Dan Hicks, Leo Kottke, Jesse
Winchester, Taj Mahal, Maria Muldaur, Bruce Cockburn, Robert Cray,
Richie Havens, and many, many more…
Music Fest 2011
2011 Performers announced to date include folk-rock icon David Crosby,
renowned songwriting Randy Newman, Jon Anderson (the Voice of Yes), hip
hop legends Arrested Development, Red Horse, The Atomic Duo (Fat Man
and Little Boy), e.s.l, Ordo Sakhna, Rodney Crowell, Albert Lee &
John Jorgenson, Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem, Corwin Fox, BettySoo,
MarchForth Marching Band, The Night Train Music Club and more!
While some of the more renowned artists who
appear at the festival are booked and announced well ahead of time, the
full list of performers is generally not available until close to the
