Reviews - The Whistle Stop
Caveat: This review is simply a personal opinion of the
author's. No pretense at objectivity or expertise is made. All subjective
impressions are based on my own dining experience and that of my family.
I'm a fair-minded guy and I'm not stuffy or particularly hard to please,
so while some little imperfections may weigh into the ratings, I might
not even notice others that would be cause for complaint by a fussier sort
of person .
The Whistle Stop Neighbourhood Pub
2355 Mansfield Ave.,
Courtenay

Menu
|
Usual pub faire. Good burgers,
appies, unique fries ( like thick, seasoned potato
chips ). Also offering a range full meals.

Generally good

Ambiance
|
Pub atmosphere. Updating past due
10 years ago. Now its almost old enough to be
funky again.
|
Service
|
Service usually good but can be
slow at busy times as staffing does not always
match customer numbers.
|
Cost
|
Moderate. Daily specials are a
great value.

Comments
|
Good spot to go with a large group
of friends. A bit noisy for a quiet dinner for
two. One of the few places in town to still offer
a smoking section.
